Women, girls and mothers love our 90% biodegradable sanitary pads. Made with all the good stuff nature has to offer - Bamboo, Corn and Organic Cotton (would eat it if I could) and none of the usual nasties like plastics, chemicals and carcinogenic toxins. They are super soft, hypoallergenic and literally rash-free, XXL 340mm, absorbs massive 140 ml, super sticky (would not shift) and fits like second skin.
They are suitable for normal to high needs periods like maternity needs, heavy periods due to medical reasons, long day wear, sports needs.
Packaging is 100% recyclable, made with unbleached paper. We have also minimised the printing on the pack to make it as eco-friendly as we could (I know crazy...we are bit extra here at Spirit).
There is not a great story to share about my journey of bringing Spirit Eco Health in this world but I can say this is my 3rd baby. Always been a hardcore environ'mental (almost criminal), avid tree hugger and a extra sensitive towards women issues, I created Spirit Eco Health to combine all of my passions. No plastic and carcinogenic chemicals sanitary pads that fit right into our fast paced modern lifestyle.
In a way, this is also a dedication to my mother, who gave into cancer in Sept 2020. Visiting my family In India in thick of Covid, it was a sombre visit - supporting my very lonely dad, nowhere to go (covid!), it was like my super busy and 'productive' life had come to a screeching halt. My mind in overdrive trying to fill to sudden vacuum, family home which used to be abuzz with chitter chatter was mournfully quiet. I observed the lives of less privileged women around me.
A side of the world that encouraged me to do something about it. This is when SPIRIT ECO; a natural bamboo based alternative to plastic based sanitary pads was born!
Spirit Eco is a company to educate women about the dangers of plastics, chemicals and toxins in sanitary products, while providing them alternatives of more natural options like bamboo sanitary pads. This is aimed at not stirring up the current comfy lifestyles we are used to. Many studies have shown that chemicals in the modern sanitary and continence products could be linked to women cancers, having lost 3 family members to women cancers, this is something close to my heart. We share the same natural goodness with rural women in India and support girls' education from almost all the profits that we make from this business.
Bonus of natural sanitary care is creating awareness about the staggering problem of billions of plastic pads thrown into landfill each year which will take about 800 years to degrade. Just to think that every sanitary pad ever made is still lying somewhere on the planet, makes me uncomfortable & guilty.
