Hi, I'm Jodie Liu, a certified member of the Spending Planner's Institute in Queensland. 

I have a PhD in Accountancy, and I was an Accounting Lecturer at the Queensland University of Technology for ten years, followed by five years as an Accounting Lecturer at Griffith University. 

My mission is to empower individuals, couples, families and small businesses to take control of their future by teaching them how to understand and manage their finances. 

I've had some challenges in my personal life that required me to be creative with my knowledge and skills. For example, I was in an abusive relationship, and then I was living in a women's refuge with a $400,000 debt. Within four years, I was debt free because I had the financial knowledge and experience to know what I needed to do to get my finances sorted.

I have since created my small business, Dollars and Sense Solutions, to help you get through confusing or tough financial times so you can have a better financial future.
