Aussie Bookkeeping Basics

Aussie Bookkeeping Basics is designed by an Australian business owner, FOR Australian business owners. 

I (Deb) am a teacher-turned-bookkeeper, who is passionate about helping other Aussie business owners understand financial concepts. I believe that knowledge leads to empowerment - when Aussie business owners understand their business finances, they can then make informed decisions in their businesses and for their families.

The course is designed to be a self-paced, online course, a one-stop-shop for financial understanding for Aussie business owners. The course can be completed as fast or as slow as needed. You can even use it as a reference, and just pop in to read about a specific thing (such as: business structures, or choosing payment systems). You can then come back later to hear about accounting systems or GST or how to read financial reports. 

Enrolling in the course gives you lifetime access, and there is no requirement to complete it by a certain date (I don't know anyone who needs MORE stress or pressure in their life!). 

It's an awesome resource which will be consistently added to as the ever-evolving landscape of running a business in Australia, and will become your go-to reference for all things Aussie business finances. 

To understand why someone would be crazy enough to create a course about finances, it may help to hear a bit about Deb, the owner & founder. 

I have many years of hands-on experience in the Australian small business landscape, and understand the challenges and triumphs that can come with running a small business Down Under. Prior to starting my own small business in 2015, I worked as an employee for small business owners in administration and accounts.

For years, I kept answering the same kinds of questions from my bookkeeping clients, like:

“Why don’t I have money in my account, when the accounting system tells me my business made a profit?”

“What is the BEST accounting system?”

“When do I need to register for GST?”

“How do I go about employing my first employee?”

I realised that if my clients were asking these questions, then there were surely loads of more people who were seeking answers to the same questions! And thus the Aussie Bookkeeping Basics course was born!
