Gemini just got even more helpful

Gemini just got even more helpful

In the world of search and cloud storage

... people tend to be either fans of Google or Microsoft.

I’ve been using Google Chrome for many years because Bing simply feels ugly. It's got a vibe that isn't my vibe. I like Chrome and Google Workspace, and I find Google Drive simple for file management and sharing. However, because docx, pptx, and Excel are superior to Docs, Slides, and Sheets, I use the former and Google Drive, not Onedrive.

In the world of artificial intelligence

... people tend to be quick adopters, fearing they'll be laggards in the "Did you see what AI can do now?" conversations.

Last week, I built a GPT on Copilot. My Copilot free trial has ended, and I didn’t renew it because OpenAI’s new ChatGPT-4o is more powerful for what I need. However, I might sign up again to Microsoft’s Copilot when it introduces more features and allows me to upload more than 10MB of PDFs. But yet again, using Copilot seems unlikely now that Google has launched Gemini Advanced.

Speaking of uploads

Gemini Advanced can now process and understand significantly more information - up to 1,500 pages, so you can tackle more complex tasks than ever before.

You can upload your documents directly from Google Drive, your phone, tablet, or computer folders.

The more information you give Gemini Advanced, the more context it has to provide tailored insights and actionable feedback on your projects.

Regarding Spreadsheets

You can upload your Google Sheets, CSVs, and Excel files and ask Gemini Advanced to clean and analyze your data, uncover hidden trends, and create charts for you.

With creative prompting, I think Gemini Advanced could walk you through the steps to set up automated emails to different segments, allowing you to eliminate pricey CRMs.

Gemini Advanced can now be your personal data analyst, which is mind-blowing because ….

While Gemini is a friendly assistant, Gemini Advanced is more like an engineer capable of handling intricate tasks.

Who doesn't love a free trial? Especially a two-month one.

Google offers a two-month trial of Gemini Advanced. If you love it, the subscription is USD 20 a month.
